LANScan Events
LANScan Events monitor for high traffic levels, low traffic levels, slow
response, no response and more. Events can be configured to monitor all traffic
on the network, or for specific devices. They can even monitor specific
protocols! Lets start with the end result - what happens when an Event is
triggered.
When an Event is triggered, LANScan sends a message to the Log, and updates
the Status light. Below is an example of the Log, displaying four Events:

Status indicates the state of the Event. Depending of the
configuration, an Event may require acknowledgement prior to running again. Object
identifies the LANScan Device or Network object to which the Event is attached.
This could also be 'System' meaning its a system generated message.
Event identifies what happened. Level is used in Event reporting,
described in a later tour stop. Date - Time reports when the Event
occurred, and Message contains a user specified text message.
